Highly skilled and with a loyal network of clients, Joe Cimmino leads Orbe Hair with over 30 years of experience. Trained in Adelaide, his first salon Kolstein’s on Peel Street thrived in the experimental era of hairdressing. There he learned the craft of hair cutting, before jetting out to work in Covent Garden, London throughout the 1990s during the height of the Brit Pop era. In 1994, Joe opened ORBE in Norwood with Ida Tirimacco.
In 20 years they have established a large and loyal clientele, as well as being the first choice for celebrities who visit Adelaide. The salon has maintained its position as one of Adelaide’s leading salons for the last 15 years.
Joe’s skills are second to none, with a specialty in precision cutting. Joe prides himself on his relationship with his clients, many of who have stayed with him since Orbe’s humble beginnings. His passion not only extends to hair styling but also to developing the skills of young stylists. As well as co-directing ORBE with Ida Tirimacco, Joe has also worked a Sydney Fashion Week, the Sydney Expo for Hairdressing and was a stylist for The Voice in Sydney’s Fox Studios.
Renowned for his own innate sense of style, Joe Cimmino can tailor his skills to suit any clients’ requests, citing dapper gents like Mark Ruffalo and David Beckham as style icons. “I’m not so much trend-driven in my hair-styling as I am more about been driven to find the perfect hairstyle for each individual client.”
